A few years ago, I took a road trip down the Pacific coast with my friend, DeVary. I was just coming out of a painful divorce, and while the trip was filled with incredible memories and great friendship, it was also a very somber experience. Processing grief, heartbreak, and loneliness. Wondering if I would ever be whole again.
That seems so long ago now.
A week ago, my wife and I went to Northern California with her family. It was my first time back. And all the memories from that road trip came flooding back. And I couldn’t help but be reminded of a song by Elevation Worship.
“Not for a minute, was I forsaken.”
Standing on the edge of the Pacific. Wading through the icy waters of Lake Tahoe. Making new memories. Laughing and talking with the person who I was always meant to find. Still grateful to the God who does all miracles. Who was with me then.
And is with me; here again.
